The wait is finally over! Dua Lipa has dropped her new single ‘Houdini’. If that was not enough, the new music video is giving dance studio realness.

Looking quietly cool and sexy, the global superstar struts and dances around a studio in a video directed by Manu Cossu. Notably, her luscious brunette locks have been replaced by cranberry red tresses.

Dua first gave fans a glimpse of her new era after clearing her Instagram on 12 October with the caption, “miss me?”

The answer is clearly yes! ‘Houdini’ is Dua’s biggest solo debut on YouTube after just 11 hours of the video being out.

Fans were quick to react, with one commenting on the vide: “This part gives me f*cking chills. The confidence and the looking back at herself and the sensuality.”

Another added, “woke up and Dua releasing yet another pop perfection wasn’t a dream, houdini sounds even better than last night.”

The praise continued where another fan noted: “Dua Lipa’s ability to create a hit needs to be studied.”

The three time Grammy and six time Brit Award-winning international pop star celebrated the release of ‘Houdini’ with fans at an event held at the English National Ballet in London, the same location where her new music video was shot.

Dua took to Instagram to celebrate the moment and said: “What a weeeek!!! Thank you for all the love on HOUDINI!!!! Last night I got to do a fan event in the very room we shot the music video at the english national ballet to do the first play on earth!!!!

“A dream night with the best people!! Thank you to everyone who has made this release super super special. :et’s keep on dancinggggg!!!!”

Dua explained how ‘Houdinini’ “embodies that 4am feeling when the night is coming to a close and you’re a bit sweaty, but you just don’t want the party to end,” in an official statement.

“This track represents the most light and freeing parts of my singledom. ’Houdini’ is very tongue in cheek, exploring the idea of whether someone is really worth my while or if I’ll ghost them in the end.

“You never know where something may take you, that’s the beauty of being open to whatever life throws your way. I’m looking forward to sharing that feeling of defiant bliss with my fans.

“A lot of this album was written in those joyous moments of absolute chaos and how I moved through the world with lightness and optimism of whatever the outcome may be,” said Dua, who co-wrote the track alongside Caroline Ailin, Danny L. Harle, Tobias Jesso Jr. and Kevin Parker.
