GLOW has been renewed for a fourth and final season.

The Netflix series will return for 10 more episodes next year to give fans a proper farewell.

The 80s comedy-drama has received universal acclaim (and 15 Emmy nominations) since its debut in 2017, particularly for the performances of Alison Brie and Betty Gilpin, so its cancellation comes as a massive disappointment to fans.

“Excited to announce that GLOW will be back for a fourth and final season!” Brie wrote on social media. “I wish I never had to say goodbye to these characters, but I am so grateful to get one more round with our incredible team.”

GLOW revolves around a fictionalisation of characters from the syndicated women’s wrestling circuit from the 80s, the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. The show has been commended for exploring topics such as sexuality, feminism and racism.

It also stars Kate Nash, Sydelle Noel, Britney Young, Marc Maron, Britt Baron, Gayle Rankin, Kia Stevens, Jackie Tohn, Ellen Wong, Marianna Palka, Geena Davis, Sunita Mani, Elizabeth Perkins, Kimmy Gatewood, Rebekka Johnson and Chris Lowell.

All three seasons of GLOW are now available to stream on Netflix.
