Lukas Gage praises Diplo’s comments on sexuality: “I don’t think we need to label everything”

The White Lotus star Lukas Gage has commended Diplo for opening up about his fluid sexuality.

During a recent interview on Emily Ratajkowski’s podcast High Low, the renowned DJ and producer revealed that he was “100 percent sure” that he’s received a “blowjob from a guy before”.

“I don’t know if it’s gay unless you like make eye contact while there’s the blowjob happening,” Diplo explained. “Getting a blowjob’s not that gay, I think.”

While the music creative refrained from defining himself as gay, the Electricity producer did hint at the possibility of him being sexually fluid.

“I think the best answer that I have is that I’m not not gay”, he told Ratajkowski before saying “there’s a couple guys that I’d be like, ‘I could date this guy… life partner-wise.'”

In response to Diplo’s interview, fans and his industry peers has shown support for the Grammy winner, including Gage.

While speaking to Variety, the Euphoria star praised the Major Lazer member for not putting labels on his sexuality.

“I’m sure there are a lot of people who have the same exact experience but maybe don’t have the confidence or the honesty to talk about it like that,” Gage explained to the publication.

“And, you know, there’s going to be people on either side saying he’s not labelling himself enough. I commend [Diplo] on his honesty, and I don’t think we need to label everything and have it all figured out. Things can be in a gray area and don’t have to be so black and white.”

This isn’t the first time that Gage has talked about sexuality and labels.

During his recent interview with The New York Times, the Love, Victor star revealed that his agent dropped him for not labelling his own sexuality.

“An agent that dropped me was like, ‘Stop dyeing your hair, stop wearing weird clothes and pick a lane: gay, bi, or straight. It’s too confusing,'” Gage said.

“I understand representation and voices that need to be heard, but I don’t want to do anything on anyone’s accord but my own. Let me do it when I’m ready. And it’s acting. I feel like everyone should get the opportunity to play whatever they want.”
