Lizzo’s back with another banger.

The soulful singer-slash-rapper (and former Gay Times cover star) has made no secret of her love for Missy Elliott, and after years of being a stan she’s finally linked up with the groundbreaking artist in the studio.

“Slow songs, they for skinny hoes, can’t move all of this here to one of those, I’m a thick bitch, I need tempo,” she sings on the twerkable anthem that encourages women to celebrate their bodies in all their glory.

It’s the third track Lizzo’s released off her upcoming album Cuz I Love You, due out 19 April, following the epic retro-inspired lead single Juice and the raw, emotional title track ballad.

The new Missy Elliott collaboration has been a long time coming for Lizzo. In an Instagram post, alongside selfies of the two, she recalled meeting her idol two years go and playing her music, hoping they’d collaborate one day.

“Deep down inside I knew one day we’d have something even more special than a selfie. Today is that day. Missy, you are the inspiration of my entire career,” she wrote.

“When you dropped music videos or SHUT DOWN award shows I felt SEEN. More importantly I felt REPRESENTED. You made this chubby, weird, black girl believe that ANYTHING was possible.

“And now we have a BANGER together – till this day you continue to inspire me to make my dreams come true.”
