What happens when your dad recognises your gay porn star boyfriend?
That’s the premise of one of SNL’s latest comedy sketches, Marcus Comes To Dinner, in which Tim takes his new boyfriend Marcus to meet his conservative father Richard, played by award-winning actor Sam Rockwell.
Richard knows he’s seen his son’s boyfriend somewhere before, but he can’t quite figure out where… until Marcus jokes that he’s “very popular with a certain type of demographic”, which gives the game away.
“Oh, you’re a gay porn star!” he exclaims. “I got one of my top-tier gay porn stars in my house and we’re giving him cookies. I can’t believe I wore this shirt to meet Marcus Pumpgood like an idiot. I have cuter shirts just so you know!”
After revealing his extensive knowledge of Cockyboys models and the scenes they’ve been part of – which he used to bootleg off the tube sites before subscribing – Richard realises he’s just outed himself to his family.
“I guess I’m getting a divorce,” he says as he grabs his coat, “and now I’m probably stepping down as pastor. Goodbye family!”
