Everyone’s favourite Aussie popstar is on her way back – and it sounds like she’s got a huge banger with her.
Kylie Minogue has been hard at work on her brand new album since signing a new record deal with Sony earlier this year, and one British talent she’s been in the studio with is dance anthem maestro Sigala.
So Gay Times got on the phone with the British producer to tease out some more details of what Kylie has got in store for us – and it sounds very promising indeed.
“It’s a club track, but it’s got a throwback 90s feel to it at the moment,” Sigala – real name Bruce Fielder– told us.
“It’s quite funky, and even the way I’ve produced the vocals is like a club record. It’s got verses, but the chorus is quite repetitive.”
He added: “It feels like a dance record with a throwback feel – especially when you hear her vocal on it. It instantly takes you back to those big records.
“We’re still actually working on the record, but it’s in a good place at the moment.”
Sigala teamed up with Kylie through The Invisible Men’s Jason Pebworth, who she’s been busy in the studio with for other tracks.
The producer had already started on the track before Kylie’s name was in the frame, but didn’t really know what to do with it.
“Jason was working with Kylie anyway, so he played it to her and she loved the track,” Bruce explained. “As soon as I heard that, I knew that this is where the song needed to be.”
As for the fact he’s actually working with pop royalty like Kylie, the 24-year-old can’t quite believe it.
“I remember growing up and listening to her records and watching all the music videos on MTV, so it’s mad,” he said.
Meanwhile, Sigala’s new single Came Here For Love was the official song for Pride in London earlier this year.
The track – which features vocals from Ella Eyre – has already climbed into the Top 10 in the UK and is expected to feature on Sigala’s debut album, which he promises is coming soon.
