Santa Claus is a gay man with a husband in new children’s book

Harper Design

Santa’s Husband will feature a gay interracial couple who both live in the North Pole.

Announced by publisher Harper Design, the story focusses on a black, gay Santa Claus and his white partner which will add an inclusive twist to the festive figurehead.

In the book, children will find out that Santa is actually a black man and that his husband often fills in for him at appearances at shopping malls, which is why we all assume Old Saint Nick is caucasian.

The idea for the book was conceived by Daniel Kibblesmith, who is a staff writer for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

He first proposed the notion of a black Santa Claus who had a husband back in December with a simple tweet.

The idea has since snowballed (pun intended) and Harper Design will now release the book for this coming Christmas.

“I can’t believe it, but this is officially happening,” Daniel tweeted earlier this week.

Santa’s Husband will be in stores from 10 October.
