Hamilton actor insists he has “nothing to apologise for” following Mike Pence comments

Hamilton vs Trump — it continues!

Broadway actor Brandon Victor Dixon has insisted that he has “nothing to apologise for” following his now infamous speech on Broadway.

Talking directly to vice president-elect Mike Pence after he visited the show last week, Brandon made headline news after his speech payed particular attention to the diversity seen in the show.

He said that the “diverse group of men and women of different colours, creeds and orientations” needed to be protected by Pence.

Later asking for the vice president-elect to “uphold our American values, and work on behalf of all of us.”

Videos have since emerged of Mike Pence being booed as he took his seat at the show.

Following the comments, the shows creator Lin-Manuel Miranda posted via his personal Twitter account, “Proud of . Proud of , for leading with love. And proud to remind you that ALL are welcome at the theater.”

The show also released the statement made at the show via its Twitter account.

However, following the speech, president-elect Donald Trump wasn’t happy — claiming Mike Pence was “harassed last night at the theater.”

He later requested an apology once again from the team behind the show.

The Broadway actor has now appeared on CBS This Morning. He was questioned about the speech and later of president-elect Trump’s demand for an apology from him.

You can watch his response from the show below…

Hamilton is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nation’s first Treasury Secretary. HAMILTON’S score blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B and Broadway – the story of America then, as told by America now.

The show will arrive into London’s West End in 2017.
