Exclusive: vverevvolf’s new single Murder

Press

There are never enough male-female duos in pop, so let’s welcome vverevvolf (pronounced “werewolf” – look again and you’ll get it) with open arms.

Kelsey LaRae and Dylan Gallagher are 24-year-old pals from Oakland in California who want to bring something a little bit different to the music scene. “As it was in high school so shall it be now: we’re sick of other people’s contrived coolness,” they write in a manifesto on their website. “We believe pop music is ready for something that isn’t afraid to be messy, unrestrained and expressive.”

Dylan, who’s been out since 16, loves pop music from early Britney singles to the innovative electro productions of Madonna/Charli XCX collaborator SOPHIE. Kelsey grew up more of an emo fan. “I’d like to think our music shows elements of all these different influences,” says Dylan, and to that end their new single Murder is a pulsating dark disco tune with a proper thumper of a chorus. We’re delighted to premiere it here on GT today, so give it a listen below before adding it to your Halloween predrinks playlist.
