Busted are back and they’re recording new music as well as embarking on their first UK arena tour in 12 years.
The Brit-winning boy band collectively broke hearts of fans around the country when they split up in 2005, but now James, Matt, and Charlie are all officially getting back together.
Guitarist Charlie Simpson, who previously vowed never to return to the band, and was the only absentee when supergroup McBusted formed last year, said at a press announcement: “I’ve lost count of the amount of times I said I’d never do this again, and I genuinely meant that.
“But I’ve changed my mind. It’s been a weird journey but a natural one. It’s nice that we’ve been able to reconnect as friends again, and that’s the reason.”
Their first performance as a trio will be at Wembley Arena on May 11 next year, where they previously played 12 sold-out shows, and will see them play all their greatest hits – from Air Hostess to Crashed The Wedding to Year 3000.
Matt Willis said: “For me, there’s a huge sense of unfinished business… I always thought in my heart we’d do Busted again, but that it was just a matter of when and how.”
Tickets go on sale Friday 13 November at 9am from Live Nation.
