Start your engines, Canada!

Last night, RuPaul’s Drag Race legend and season 11 runner-up Brooke Lynn Hytes made a gag-worthy appearance at the People’s Choice Awards alongside stars such as Pink, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Aniston, Zendaya and the Kardashians.

The sickening performer took home the award for Most Hypeworthy Canadian, despite facing against A-List talent such as Keanu Reeves, Sandra Oh, Shawn Mendes, Cobie Smulders, Celine Dion, Drake and Nav Bhatia.

The category wasn’t televised, so the producers had Brooke accept the honour in a pre-recorded video. Because she was in a studio and sported a jaw-dropping lewk, fans have come to the conclusion that she was on the set of Drag Race Canada.

It makes sense. Remember when RuPaul made a guest-appearance on the season two finale of Drag Race Thailand via pre-recorded message, sporting the exact same ensemble from the Drag Race UK promo photo?

When a fan on Reddit said it couldn’t be from set because Brooke was currently in LA, another fan – who must work for the drag department of the FBI – responded: “She flew in that morning yes but this video was pre-recorded.

“She wasn’t dressed like that on the carpet and arguably she came because she knew she already won.”

Drag Race Canada was confirmed as the latest spin-off earlier this year, and news of Brooke as a permanent judge was revealed back in September. She’s making history as the first Canadian contestant on the show and the first to sit on a panel.

“Herstory! I remember a year ago I was in the World Of Wonder offices, just after filming season 11, and I said ‘I want a Canadian Drag Race…and I want to be a judge!’ Well, dreams come true,” she wrote on Twitter after the news broke.

“I couldn’t be more excited and honored to be a permanent judge on Drag Race Canada.”

Joining Brooke on the Drag Race Canada judging panel will be UnREAL actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, who previously appeared as a guest on Drag Race, and Canada’s Next Top Model judge and runway queen Stacey McKenzie.

Meanwhile, TV personality and host Traci Melchor will be ‘Canada’s first Squirrel Friend’ on the show, making special house visits to test the queens with some challenges and provide a dose of reality when needed.

“I’m thrilled to reveal my hand-picked judges for Canada’s Drag Race. By the power vested in me, I command them to go forth and be my ‘Judge Judys’ of the North,” RuPaul previously said in a statement.

“I have complete confidence in their ability to choose Canada’s first drag superstar!”
