Clueless is making a comeback.

The cult classic 1995 teen movie followed Cher (Alicia Silverstone) and friend Dionne (Stacey Dash) as they navigated a Beverly Hills high school while making over new student Tai (Brittany Murphy) in their image.

But in this new, modern TV adaptation of the movie, it’s Dionne who will be taking the spotlight.

According to Deadline, the series will imagine what happens when high school queen bee Cher disappears and Dionne become the new most popular girl in school, while trying to find out what happened to her best friend.

The series will be “a new, dramatic take on the high school comedy” and has been pegged as “Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video” – we’ll leave it up to you to decide if that’s a good thing.

The hour-long drama series is in the works at CBS TV Studios, with “multiple” streaming platforms expressing interest as well as The CW, home to popular teen drama Riverdale and a number of DC Comics series including Arrow and Batwoman.

It’s not the first time Clueless has been adapted for the small screen, as a 1996 spin-off series followed the continuing adventures of Cher (who was replaced by Rachel Blanchard) and friends, running for three seasons.
