Karamo reveals which Queer Eye member he had “extreme conflict” with in season one

The cast members of Queer Eye are all besties aren’t they? Well it wasn’t always that way.

Karamo Brown, the show’s culture expert, has revealed that there was one particular member of the gang that he struggled to get along with, saying they had “an extreme amount of conflict” with each other in the first season.

Speaking to E! Online, Karamo said: “My castmate from Queer Eye, Antoni [Porowski], people didn’t know that we had an extreme amount of conflict. We did not talk to each other at all during season one, even though we were shooting together.

“On camera, it was always about that person and about creating something successful, so that was genuine. Before we would go on camera, we would say to each other: ‘This is not about us. It’s about this person.’ But off camera, the minute that camera stopped rolling, ‘Girl, don’t come near me.’ And vice versa, he didn’t want me to come near him.”

Karamo revealed that the drama was intensified when someone “in-house” started to spread rumours.

“Our personalities got along, but then a third party got involved and once that third party got involved, he and I couldn’t even talk to each other,” he continued. “We were too busy hearing rumours of what this third party was spreading about both of us.”

After they both realised they was a “third toxic party” messing with them, Karamo and Antoni – the show’s food expert – made amends: “We were like, ‘Why did we just go through all those months of bs?’”
