The book cover for the sequel to Call Me By Your Name, Find Me, has been revealed by André Aciman on his Twitter account. In the post, Aciman wrote: “Here’s the cover of my forthcoming novel, FIND ME, where you’ll rediscover Elio and Oliver. Coming October 2019.”

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Aciman explained some of the design choices for the cover.
“The colors of the buildings couldn’t have been more intensely Roman or captured the sensual Rome I’ve known and loved so much: ochre, faded orange, and, in the background, a serene blue sky,” he said.
“If you look carefully, the street sign reads ‘Via dei Banchi Vecchi’ — a street where Elio and his father order wine in what is my favorite enoteca in the world. My heart belongs in this image.”
But he was quick to add that the entire story doesn’t take place in Rome, saying: “Find Me does not take place in Rome alone. An entire segment takes place in a rainy Paris by night while another is set in New York City late on a protracted Indian summer.”
In March, a description for the book came out, and it revealed that the sequel will focus in greater detail on Elio’s father.
The description reads: “In Find Me, Aciman shows us Elio’s father Samuel, now divorced, on a trip from Florence to Rome to visit Elio, who has become a gifted classical pianist. A chance encounter on the train leads to a relationship that changes Sami’s life definitively.
“Elio soon moves to Paris where he too has a consequential affair, while Oliver, now a professor in northern New England, considers returning to Europe with his sons having grown.”
However, fans hoping for this sequel to be turned into a film may be disappointed, as Armie Hammer said there’d only been “loose conversations” over a sequel, and he worried that it might take away from the first film.
“No, the truth is, there have been really loose conversations about it, but at the end of the day — I’m sort of coming around to the idea that the first one was so special for everyone who made it, and so many people who watched it felt like it really touched them, or spoke to them,” he explained.
“And it felt like a really perfect storm of so many things, that if we do make a second one, I think we’re setting ourselves up for disappointment. I don’t know that anything will match up to the first, you know?”
When asked if director Guadagnino and Chalamet feel the same way, he added: “I don’t know. I haven’t had that conversation with them explicitly. But I mean, look. If we end up with an incredible script, and Timmy’s in, and Luca’s in, I’d be an asshole to say no. But at the same time, I’m like, ‘That was such a special thing, why don’t we just leave that alone?’”
