Detective Pikachu introduces Mewtwo in explosive new trailer

The new trailer for Detective Pikachu has introduced several legendary Pokemon.

The highly-anticipated live-action film stars Ryan Reynolds as the title character – in motion capture – alongside Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton, Ken Watanabe, Omar Chaparro, Paul Kitson, Karan Soni and Diplo.

Bill Nighy, Suki Waterhouse, Chris Geere, Rita Ora, and Rob Delaney have also been cast in undisclosed roles.

It follows Tim Goodman (Smith), a former Pokemon trainer who is searching for his missing father.

He teams up with a Pikachu who used to belong to his father, and can, for some reason, understand him. But no one else can. Oh, and Pikachu has amnesia.

The brand new trailer sees the pair on their journey, and provides us with a sneak-peak of more legendary Pokemon such as Cubone, Eevee, Charizard, Psyduck and the menacing Mewtwo.
