Years & Years team up with Jax Jones for infectious new single Play

You’ll want to add this one to your weekend playlists.

Jax Jones, the Brit-nominated producer-DJ-songwriter behind hits like You Don’t Know Me and Breathe, has teamed up with chart-topping band Years & Years for a brand new single called Play.

“How long ’til you play me the song that will make me belong to you?” lead singer Olly Alexander questions on the infectious chorus, which is backed by the sounds of UK Garage, soul and house.

Jax said he wanted to collaborate with Years & Years because of Olly’s “unique voice”, adding: “We had a lot of fun writing this song together and it was great to collaborate with someone so down to earth and open to new ideas.”

Olly continued: “Working with Jax was really fun and we just giggled the whole time and danced around. I wrote loads of ideas and then we picked the ones we liked and made the song out of it.”
