Netflix have revealed the first two images from the upcoming Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot.

The first photo sees the title character in the woods as she serves Red Riding Hood realness.

The other, however, is a bit more chilling. It shows Sabrina – along with her two aunts, Hilda and Zelda – in the woods with several other cult members, including a shirtless bloody man in a bunny mask.

Netflix have described the episode as “the dark baptism of Sabrina”.

All ten episodes of the streaming platform’s witchy, Buffy-esque reboot will be released on 26 October.

The highly-anticipated new take on everyone’s favourite Archie Comics witch will include familiar characters – such as Harvey and Salem – but in a brand new setting. Instead of Boston, Massachusetts, Chilling Adventures will be set in Greendale.

American actress Kiernan Shipka steps into the iconic role of Sabrina Spellman, while Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto play the title character’s aunts, Hilda and Zelda.

Other cast members include Jaz Sinclair (Rosalind Walker), Michelle Gomez (Madam Satan), Chance Perdomo (Ambrose Spellman), Richard Coyle (Father Blackwood), Ross Lynch (Harvey Kinkle) and Tati Gabrielle (Prudence).

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said: “We’re all such huge fans of Kiernan’s work, that when we started talking about who this new incarnation of Sabrina could be, her name was on everyone’s wish list.

“This is a darker, more macabre version of Sabrina, and we’re incredibly excited for people to see Kiernan make this iconic character her own.”

The most famous TV adaptation of the character – Sabrina the Teenage Witch – originally aired between 1996 to 2003 with Melissa Joan Hart in the titular role.

Jon Goldwater – Archie Comics boss – added: “I am thrilled that Kiernan is playing Sabrina and have no doubt that she will embody the strength, courage and boldness that has made the character a fan favourite.”
