The latest installment of the hit franchise is on its way.

The first trailers for the latest installment in the Pokémon franchise, Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee have been released. The games are set to take place in the Kanto region, the area where many of us will have started our Pokémon journeys.

The game also looks set to borrow many of its main mechanics from the 2016 craze that was Pokémon Go, as catching Pokémon is done in the same way. The game is also compatible with Pokémon Go, and Pokémon that you catch in the mobile game can be transferred over, although this can only be done with the Poké Ball Plus.

However, even though you won’t need to battle wild Pokémon to catch them, Pokémon battles against trainers will still feature. And if you don’t want to battle wild Pokémon it looks like avoiding them will be a lot simpler, as you can now see them in the tall grass and caves.

The game will feature all 151 of the original Pokémon, and it has been confirmed that the Alola versions will also appear. Another feature of the game is the return of having Pokémon follow you around, from Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver, however the player character is seen flying around a route on a Charizard, so Fly mechanics may have changed.

Both games are currently set to release on November 16 later this year, but if this entry in the Pokémon series isn’t for you, worry not. The next main series game is set to release on Nintendo Switch some time next year.
