Why didn’t this make the movie?!
Twentieth Century Fox have unveiled a deleted Love, Simon scene between lead actor Nick Robinson, and American Horror Story: Cult star Colton Haynes.
The critically-acclaimed film – which boasts the honour of becoming the first major-studio teen rom-com to feature a gay protagonist – is out in the US today for digital download, and includes a bunch of exclusive, never-before-seen content.
In one of the deleted scenes, we witness Simon (Robinson) and his best friend Nick (Jorge Lendeborg Jr.) attend a gay bar, where the title character is approached by an older, attractive college co-ed named Kevin (Haynes).
After a brief moment of hesitation, the two dance, before Simon and Nick are kicked out for being underage.
It’s a short – but sweet – scene showing Simon’s friend embracing him for who he is, and we would’ve loved to see this in the final cut.

For those who haven’t seen it, the film follows 17-year-old Simon Spier as he comes to terms with his sexuality.
Jennifer Garner and Josh Duhamel play his parents, alongside 13 Reasons Why’s Katherine Langford and Miles Heizer, Logan Miller (The Walking Dead), Alexandra Shipp (X-Men: Apocalypse) and The Flash actor Keiynan Lonsdale.
Upon release, the film received widespread acclaim from critics and fans of the book.
The author – Becky Albertalli – praised the film, stating: “It’s funny and relevant and timeless and charming and honest and painful and so romantic. It says exactly what I wanted the book to say.”
