“I was the least Kylie of all the Kylies!”
Aussie pop kween Kylie Minogue spoke about her popularity within the LGBTQ community earlier this week, and revealed that she once lost a Kylie-themed drag competition. You’d be fuming wouldn’t ya?
During an appearance on The Late Show with James Corden, the Golden star joked: “I was the least Kylie of all the Kylies!”
She then explained how she had been to see a band called The Lemonheads earlier that evening, so she was dressed as a “hippie” version of herself, which didn’t quite live up to the classic Kylie aesthetic of the other queens.
“I didn’t know I was going to end up in this gay club on drag night, so I wasn’t in ’full flight. Me in a little hippie outfit standing next to four robust Kylie’s, it was quite something.”

Last month, Kylie’s 14th studio album, Golden, became her sixth number one album in the UK (and her first to top the chart in eight years).
The record shifted 48,000 combined sales, eclipsing the first-week totals of her last three releases, The Abbey Road Sessions, Kiss Me Once and Kylie Christmas.
Kylie told the Official Charts: “I don’t know where to start… Thank you to everybody who has been involved in getting Golden to Number 1. I am so overwhelmed, happy, proud, emotional and very, very thankful and grateful. Much love and many, many, many thanks.”
Golden’s first two singles, Dancing and Stop Me From Falling, received critical acclaim, and the former became Kylie’s 51st top 40 hit in the UK.

Kicking off on 18 September, the tour will include stops in Newcastle, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Cardiff, London, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Dublin, before wrapping up in Belfast on 8 October.
