There’s both good news and bad news for Shangela fans.

When the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 was revealed earlier this month (spoiler: it’s Trixie Mattel), fans were left divided.

Some believed Trixie’s success outside the show – including two albums, world tours, and her own TV show on Viceland – warranted her win, while others thought Shangela’s excellent track record on the season meant she should’ve come out on top.

While we’re not ones to take sides, we can’t deny that we were a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see Shangela give it her all during that Wrecking Ball finale lip sync – she had some pretty epic plans for it.

So when Gay Times got the chance to talk to the legendary queen (and part-time Mother of Dragons) herself, we just had to ask if she’d be up for returning for another All Stars season in the future…

“Honey, it’s Shangela! There’s always a return that’s gonna happen,” she laughed. “Now, I just gotta find a new box that can hold me.”

But when asked whether she’d return for All Stars 4, which would likely happen in the next couple of years, she joked: “Oh no honey, unless y’all have a seat for me at the judges table, I ain’t coming. I need to take some time off!”

She continued: “The thing about All Stars 3 is that I walked in wanting to give the best ‘me’ possible, and I think I did that. I raised the bar for myself, in what I was able to do on the runway, and in the challenges.

“I want to live in that moment and hold onto that for a while before trying to throw myself back into the competition.”

Addressing the negativity that she and other queens get from fans on social media and forums like Reddit, Shangela explained that she just doesn’t have the time to sit and browse through the hate.

“You know, a lot of the stuff on Reddit is funny to me, because people will send me posts and say ‘Oh, did you see this?’ and it can be so far from the truth a lot of times, [but then] a lot of times it’s spot on” she said.

“But I wish I was better at social media, I get sucked into those Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat holes so much, I don’t really get to visit those other websites. That’d take two or three hours, honey!”

We’ve got more T coming from Shangela, so keep your eyes peeled…

The drag superstar recently revealed she’ll be starring alongside Lady Gaga in her A Star Is Born remake, but if you can’t wait for that soon-to-be iconic performance, you can catch her in the shequel to Hurricane Bianca, which is due for release on 18 May.

Oh, and she’s just released a killer new dance anthem called Pay Me featuring Ryan Skyy, and a music video is on the way later this year.

Until then, get your jush below.
