Sally Field’s son finally met Adam Rippon after her matchmaking attempt

Back in February, two-time Academy Award winner Sally Field proved she could add ‘matchmaker’ to her resumé after she tried setting her son up with the Olympic figure skater on everybody’s lips… Adam Rippon.

Her son – Sam Greisman – posted a screenshot of a conversation with his mother, in which they discussed the 28-year-old athlete.

“Sam… he’s insanely pretty. Find a way,” she advised. Alongside the tweet, Sam said: “Just some really helpful advice from my mom on how to deal with my Olympic crush.”

This prompted the Mrs Doubtfire actress – in a typical mum move – to retweet her son, tagging Adam Rippon.

In an interview with BuzzFeed, Adam reportedly screamed when he heard Sally’s message – because, duh, she’s Sally Field – and replied: “Sam, your mom – I admire her. And I’m sure one day we’re going to meet! So thanks, mom.”

Well, it looks like Sally’s matchmaking attempt worked, because Sam has finally met his crush…

On Twitter, Sam sent the internet into meltdown-mode when he tweeted a picture with his arm around Adam, captioned: “Thanks, mom.”

Now this is a romance we could get behind!

Adam also broke the internet last week when he posed for a photo with his celebrity crush, Shawn Mendes.

Last month, he revealed that he had a crush on former One Direction star Harry Styles, but during a recent appearance on The Ellen Show, he explained that Mendes was his new obsession.

“Here’s the thing – I was sleeping on Shawn Mendes,” he said. “Not literally! But I didn’t realise how cute he was. I know Harry will be upset… Love is a funny thing.”

The unapologetically queer figure skater tweeted the photo alongside the caption: “I planted the seed and I saw the harvest. He is cute, he is sweet, and the other guy is Shawn Mendes.”

Earlier this year, Adam became the first openly gay athlete from Team USA to qualify for the games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and earned a bronze medal in the men’s individual with a stunning performance to Coldplay’s O.

His relationship with fellow out athlete Gus Kensworthy also made headlines when they shared a kiss in defiance of Mike Pence – and the internet went wild.
