Football star Robbie Rogers gets engaged to boyfriend Greg Berlanti


American footballer Robbie Rogers has got engaged to his partner Greg Berlanti!

The couple, who have been together for three years, announced the exciting news via Instagram, as 29-year-old LA Galaxy player Robbie shared a photo of himself and his partner along with a sweet message.

He wrote: “Thank you to everyone before us that made this moment possible… I feel extremely lucky and blessed to end 2016 engaged to the love of my life. Happy New Year!”

Greg, creator of hit TV series Arrow and The Flash, also shared his own message about their engagement, writing: “2016 was memorable for many reasons, for me it was the year my heart doubled in size.

“First, when my son Caleb was born. And second, a few days ago, when I got engaged to my soulmate. Though I dreamed of both those things happening, i’m not sure I truly believed they were possible.

“Thanks to the friends and family who helped me find my way to this moment in my blessed life. a happy and healthy 2017 to all.”

In February, Robbie and Greg welcomed their son Caleb Gene Berlanti into the world via surrogacy, and in December they celebrated their first Christmas together as a family with a cute photo on Instagram.

Robbie recently made a guest appearance on TV show The Real O’Neals alongside Olympic freeskier Gus Kenworthy, as the two out athletes gave a locker room pep talk to gay teen Kenny.
