The flamboyant Dr Who star wowed his crowd in an extravagant blue police-box dress.
John Barrowman, who appeared in Dr Who as the bisexual Captain Jack – and later as the lead role in spin-off series Torchwood – appeared at San Diego’s Comic-Con this week for a Q&A session.
The epic Tardis outfit was worn by Barrowman to show support for the BBC’s decision to cast a female Doctor for the upcoming season.
It was revealed last week that Broadchurch star Jodie Whittaker will replace Peter Capaldi as the 13th doctor to steer the iconic Tardis across the universe in the next season.
It’s also been announced today that Whittaker will be making the same salary as Capaldi, showing that the BBC is making a conscious effort to combat the gender wage gap that is an issue word-wide.
Barrowman took to the stage announcing “I’m a transgender Tardis!” before twirling to show off every inch of his dress.
The openly gay actor showed his support for the recent surge of LGBT representation on the show, such as this last season introducing a lesbian companion.
One thing’s certain. John Barrowman looks damn cute in a dress.
