The latest trailer for Thor: Ragnarok assembles The Revengers

The Avengers, The Defenders, The Revengers… Okay Marvel, we get it.

Marvel’s latest trailer for Thor: Ragnarok has delivered another punchy superhero team-up name in the form of The Revengers.

The line-up consists of Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and Loki (Tom Hiddleston), who assemble to take down Hela – goddess of death and whatnot – played by two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett.

The new trailer manages to pack a Hela of a lot (please laugh at our joke) in 45 seconds, including Hulk battling a giant wolf-monster, Cate Blanchett destroying Asgard, and Chris Hemsworth showing off his Adonis-like physique.

It was reported this week that the film will feature the first gay character in a Marvel movie.

Korg, portrayed by the film’s director, Taiki Waiti, is a member of an alliance of aliens called the Warbound, and will cross paths with the God of Thunder while he’s held captive on planet Sakaar.

This plot has been lifted from the Planet Hulk comic book storyline, where it was revealed that Korg was in a gay relationship with another member of the Warbound called Hiroim, according to NewNowNext.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has previously featured LGBT+ characters in shows such as Jessica Jones and Agents of Shield, but this would be the first time a Marvel movie would include a gay character.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released in cinemas on 27 October.
