RuPaul has said that he would like to see a superstar edition of Drag Race happen, where all of the past winners compete to be the queen of queens.
The idea has been floating around for some time, with Gay Times asking some of the winners earlier this year if they’d be up for it.
But this is the first instance where RuPaul himself has said he’d like to see it actually become a reality.
The topic came up on the latest episode of his podcast RuPaul: What’s The Tee? with Michelle Visage, where season five champion Jinkx Monsoon was a guest.
Jinkx admitted that she was slightly apprehensive about doing a winners season, but when she watched All Stars 2 she was like “Get me back in there!”
The three discussed what the dynamic in the workroom would be like, considering most of the queens have become good friends since leaving their respective series.
While they all agreed that Sharon Needles would be cut-throat, Michelle also pondered what it would be like to see long-time friends Bianca Del Rio and Bob The Drag Queen compete against each other.
“It’s true, and I think you guys have sold me. I think that’s what we have to do,” RuPaul concluded on the podcast. “I loved the pitch…It’s done!”
