“I feel like I’m out of my mind…”

Modern Family star Nolan Gould and Are We There Yet?’s Coy Stewart play gay teens in Logic’s emotional new music video for 1-800-273-8255, which features vocals from Khalid and Alessia Cara.

The track takes its title from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, while the Andy Hines-directed music video tells the story of two gay teens who struggle to come to terms with their sexuality.

When Coy and Nolan’s characters are caught in bed together, their fathers are anything but supportive – bullied by his teammates at school and rejected at home, Coy’s character runs away and begins to contemplate suicide.

Fortunately, the video ends with a message of hope for anyone in a similar situation, offering a glimpse into the future where Coy’s character gets married, has children, and is accepted by his father.

There’s even an appearance from Gay Times magazine in the clip…

Speaking to TooFab about filming the video, Coy said: “I just kind of dived in, but I learned how it feels to kind of carry that weight when the world doesn’t accept you and that’s a scary weight to carry.

“I commend every single person who will carry that proudly because it is what you should do, but because of the world we live in, it’s not as easy as it sounds.”

Nolan added that, during the current Trump administration in the United States, LGBT+ people “need to know that they’re loved” and reminded them that things do eventually get better.
