Camila Cabello releases first solo music video Crying In The Club

Camila Cabello’s first solo music video is an emotional rollercoaster.

Anticipation for the singer’s new material has been sky-high ever since she left world-dominating girl group Fifth Harmony last year, but fans will be pleased to know she’s delivered a club-ready anthem that packs an emotional punch.

The music video begins with a black-and-white prelude titled I Have Questions, in which Camila asks “why did you leave me here to burn?”, before transitioning into the main event – debut single Crying In The Club.

While the track does take liberties from a variety of sources, including a Cheap Thrills-inspired beat and a chorus melody sampled from Christina Aguilera’s hit Genie In A Bottle, it’s an impactful first impression nonetheless.

“I might have thought the hurting was my enemy before, but she became the best listener,” Camila said in a post on Twitter last week, describing the process of creating her new album The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving.

“I might have thought I was too impatient for the healing, and it did feel like sometimes she was taking forever, but I realised it made me appreciate her so much more when she arrived.

“And the loving, I wouldn’t have known how beautiful she was if I couldn’t miss her all that time.”
