Darren Criss to play Versace’s killer in American Crime Story

Darren Criss is the latest name to join true crime series American Crime Story.

Much like it’s spooky counterpart American Horror Story, the show tells a different story with different characters each season – last year’s critically acclaimed debut took on the OJ Simpson murder trial.

Season three of the Ryan Murphy show, which is set to air in 2018, will focus on the death of legendary fashion designer Gianni Versace, who was murdered by Andrew Cunanan on the steps of his home in 1997.

It’s now been announced that Darren Criss will play Andrew, while Edgar Ramirez will play Gianni.

Darren previously worked with Ryan on his hit musical TV series Glee, where he starred as teen singer Blaine Anderson, and also had a small role in season five of American Horror Story: Hotel.

The first season of American Crime Story featured high-profile actors including John Travolta, Nathan Lane, David Schwimmer, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Sarah Paulson, so we’re expecting more big names for season three to be announced over the next year.
