The first full-length trailer for the Tom of Finland biopic is here

A full-length trailer for the much-delayed Tom Of Finland biopic has been released.

Despite being in production limbo for years, the movie, which is directed by Dome Karukoski and written by Aleksi Bardy, is finally on its way and is slated for a February 2017 release.

The biopic retells the story of famous Finnish artist Touko Laaksonen, known to fans as Tom Of Finland, who gained a following for his homoerotic drawings of overly-muscled men.

According to Deadline: “Laaksonen returns from home to Helsinki a hero after a harrowing and eventful military service in World War II, only to find himself persecuted in peace time for his homosexuality.

“He gets himself trapped in secret affairs and pressured to get married to a woman. He discovers refuge and liberation in his art, specialising in homoerotic drawings of muscular men in sexually uninhibited situations.

“Over the years, his work develops a worldwide following and helps fan the flames of a gay revolution in the USA.”
