Any Day Now

Alan Cumming (X-Men, The L-Word, The Good Wife) and Garret Dillahunt star in Travis Fine’s Audience Award winning powerful story of acceptance, family and love. When a teen with Down syndrome (played by the brilliant Isaac Leyva) is abandoned by his mother, a gay couple Rudy and Paul take him in and become the loving family he never had. The authorities find out about this set up and have something to say about this alternative family, so the couple are forced to fight hard against a challenging legal system to save the life of the child they have grown to love and care for as their own. This film is inspired by a true story from the late 1970s but touches on many issues faced by gay and lesbian couples wanting to adopt, foster or care fro disadvantaged kids today, plus it is set to a great soundtrack (T-Rex, Bob Dylan, Biddu, Miles Davies and Funkadelic).
