Win tickets to see La Traviata
Glyndebourne is offering the chance to win tickets to the world’s most performed opera, La Traviata as it travels across the UK and Ireland. A tragic yet lyrical masterpiece, heart-breaking and unforgettable, La Traviata is renowned as a ‘must-see’ opera!
Features: Globally celebrated for exceptional opera, Glyndebourne is offering a rare opportunity to see La Traviata, as it transfers direct from Glyndebourne’s internationally acclaimed festival to a UK wide tour that takes in eight venues: Glyndebourne, Woking, Canterbury, Norwich, Milton Keynes, Plymouth, Dublin and Stoke on Trent.
Reckless love, family fall outs and emotional self-sacrifice, La Traviata is musical story-telling at its best. Audiences see the tale of a fallen woman abandoned by her lover and her friends and left to live out her life in rural seclusion. This lavish new production sees American tenor Zach Borichevsky make his UK début singing Alfredo, alongside Russian soprano Irina Dubrovskaya singing the tragic role of Violetta.
Verdi’s La Traviata centres on courtesan Violetta, one of the most desirable women in Paris. When she at last meets a man, keen to take her away from her life as a mistress, passion takes over and she falls in love only to see her lover’s father ask her to vanish permanently from his son’s life.
