Amy Winehouse’s soulful voice, unique style and award winning song writing are just a few of the reasons why she’s someone that we all miss and will never forget.
The musical icon’s life will be celebrated throughout September to mark what would have been her 30th birthday on the 13th, with a series of events under the name #Amys30 throughout her hometown of Camden in London.
A launch night party of the Amy Winehouse: For You I Was A Flame exhibition at Proud Galleries on Wednesday 11th will kick off the events to honour Amy at her happiest. There will be a pop-up shop selling limited edition merchandise on Camden High Street as well as an Amy Walking Tour of Camden.
On Friday 13th there will be a singalong event called ‘Friday I’m in Love’ celebrating Amy’s contribution to music with News presenter Jon Snow and singer David McAlmont exercising their chords as well as others.
Amy’s mother Janice, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, will take part in a parachute jump with the Mayor of Camden and 30 brave others.
All funds raised by September’s events will go towards the Amy Winehouse Foundation, set up after the singer’s death by her family, to help prevent the misuse of alcohol and drugs affecting young people and provide support.
We’re perfecting our beehives as we speak.
