Diversity Choir celebrates 21 years

You're only 21 once, apparently...

Forget those BGT hunks in street dance group Diversity, and let us introduce you to the voices of the choir-singing group Diversity!

As they celebrate their 21 years anniversary, the Diversity Choir invites you to join them as they perform at St James's Church with an after show party straight after…well who doesn’t like a good party? We certainly do!

They started off in 1992 as a small group of friends coming together and singing songs, and it has now seen over 150 members join for different periods of time to create the 50-strong, Glee-like ensemble. Not only does the choir offer a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone to sing, they are also a registered charity that takes parts in numerous activities such as: taking part in the Trafalgar square Vigil for victims of hate crime, helping to launch the recent Gay Marriage Bill and participating in the Cultural Olympiad at Trafalgar Square with the Big Gay Sing. So we guess they’re not your average church singing choir?

More excitingly, in 2005, the choir also traveled to Paris, where they were involved Various Voices, which is Europe’s choir festival for everyone that is gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. Diversity has also performed in other cities across Europe such as Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and they will be in Dublin for the Various Voices 2014. They get around, you see.

Our Favourite Sings, which is the theme for the anniversary concert will feature a wide range of songs and music from Bizet to the Beach Boys.

Advanced tickets start at £12 and £15 on the door. £8 for concessions.

Diversity Choir 20 July, 7.30pm, St James’s Church, 197 Piccadilly, W1J 9LL
