Electro pioneer Miss Kittin
...with a new record, UK show and a free download. Ambassador, you’re really spoiling us.
More from GT Music
So if you’ve picked up the latest copy of GT (and if you haven’t why not) you will have seen we gave the new Miss Kittin album Calling From The Stars four of our very own stars out of five. It’s classic Kittin, all deadpan European vocals, broken English and Party Monster beats.
And with a live show coming up in under two weeks, she’s collaborated with Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, who’s taken on the role of art director. All gigs should come with an art director. Dominique was the one who filled the Tate’s Turbine Hall with blue and yellow bed sculptures and screened her sci-fi cut’n’paste job The Last Film constantly, so goodness knows where her dystopian mind will take the harsh electro sounds of Miss Kittin. It will be more than your average gig whatever their collaboration turns up.
Hopefully it will be something like this Tron-esque video. Dannii Minogue should take notes. This is how you do a triumphant return to pop.
Her new EP Basline is already out and streaming online. Message to your daddy - here’s a free tribal-ish remix for you to download:
Miss Kittin is playing XOYO, London on 1 May, get your tickets here and you can pre-order her new album OUT NEXT WEEK over on here.
