The Kinsey Sicks are coming!

The sensational Kinsey Sicks make their UK debut at Bear Pride.

Billed as America’s favourite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet, The Kinsey Sicks make their long-awaited UK debut at a series of special shows at Pulse (home to XXL) to celebrate Bear Pride.

They’ve been wowing audiences in the States for twenty years, but this is the first time that Rachel, Winnie, Trixie and Trampolina will be appearing in London as they rake up residency at Pulse for five nights from May 20 to May 24.

Formed by a freak accident in December 1993 in San Francisco, over the last twenty years they have written and performed scores of musicals, starred in their own Off-Broadway show at New York’s legendary Studio 54, toured internationally, recorded eight albums and have been the subject of two feature films.

Not surprisingly they have an extensive and remarkably diverse fanbase including people of all genders, religions and several political positions. The New York Times has praised their “voices sweet as birdsong” and Variety bills them as “one act that should not be missed.” The San Francisco Chronicle says, “Their mangling of hit songs hits genius level.”

XXL are thrilled that The Kinsey Sicks will be joining local and international talent for these shows to kick-off Bear Pride in London. The main event for this year’s celebration will be XXL Bear Pride which takes place at Pulse on Saturday May 25 from 9pm until 9am and it promises to be a full on bearstravaganza with resident DJs Christian M, Alex Logan, Joe Egg and Phil Marriot.

The following evening XXL Fusion opens its doors for another twelve-hour marathon with the tunes being provided by the Freemasons and Cahill. There’ll also be a special performance from the Kinsey Sicks, Peppermint and Sherry Vine which will take place in the Fluff Bar.

XXL are raising money for Mildmay this year so dig deep and give generously – there will be designated charity boxes and collectors in the venue all week.
