Organisation and Services Department (OSD)
The Organisation and Services Department aims to win a better deal for working people by building membership and organisation and stronger links between unions. The department leads on a range of policy areas including: public services, health and safety, young people and students and TUC organisation in the regions and in Wales.

Grade 9, £48,841 per annum rising incrementally to £50,814 per annum
Full time permanent contract
Based in Regional Office in Liverpool L3 9NG
The Regional Secretary will represent the TUC in the region with affiliated unions, employers, the media, government and other regional agencies. The post holder will be responsible for organising and managing the work of the Regional Council and its Executive Committee and contributing to and supporting TUC campaigns, services and initiatives. As well as having a good awareness of current issues in trade unionism, employment, the economy and politics, the successful candidate will also need to demonstrate:
Leadership and people management:
High degree of sensitivity in handling political issues
Dealing with campaigns and media
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Closing date for the receipt of completed application forms is 12 noon on Monday 15 October 2012. First round interviews will be held on Wednesday 31 October 2012. Second round interviews will be held on Friday 9 November 2012.
