The British Surrogacy Centre

It is no longer the privilege of the straight community to have a biological child - with surrogacy, the gay community can now have biological children of their own.

The BSC is the leading surrogacy centre in Europe specialising in same-sex parenting. No other facility can offer the experience and expertise in helping you achieve your goal of becoming a parent.

It has been estimated that the number of children nationwide living with at least one gay parent ranges from six to 14 million. The American Academy of Paediatrics formally stated that there are more similarities than differences in the way homosexual and heterosexuals raise their children, and that children are just as well adjusted in families of gay parents as they are when brought up in heterosexual families. The aim of The British Surrogacy Centre is to give the opportunity to all couples and singles to become parents regardless of their sexuality, race, age or religious belief.

Providing Expert Advice Since 2001

We helped our first gay couple become parents in 2001, when most agencies around the world would not even consider working with a gay couple. From 2001 – 2010, the team behind the BSC have helped over 200 gay couples and singles become parents through surrogacy, resulting in 240 babies being born!!! The BSC believe that the desire to parent is the same for all couples, regardless of sexual orientation. In 2011, we went public and became the FIRST surrogacy agency in Europe and are proud to say that we had 30 pregnancies alone this year!

It is a fact that society as a whole is still nervous about Gay Parenting and the issues that go along with it on a daily basis. BSC is able to help you through the concerns that you might have regarding the future and will guide you through the process of not only the surrogacy and legal issues, but will offer on-going support to all our families on a personal level for many years to come.

Personal Tailored Support

You will be offered social work support, which will be given to you throughout the pregnancy and on-going for as long as you need it. Our social workers will help with any issues you feel that you are facing once you are at home with your child, should you require it and provide any written reports on your surrogacy arrangement that you might need later on for parental orders or whatever. Every Intended Parent is special and at BSC, you will be treated with the respect that you deserve.

From the moment you start to work with The British Surrogacy Centre, you will be assigned a social worker. The social worker will make a home visit first off and go through the initial paperwork with you. At this meeting, you will get the chance to ask any questions that you might have, you will also be required to produce a statement which will be given to several surrogates that we might match you up with or/and egg donors if required. Your social worker will ask you for a couple of photos to take away with them that can also be shown and if need be, can take a couple whilst there. The social worker will ask you some personal questions about your living arrangements etc so that this information can be logged in your file and shared with your surrogate or egg donor if need be, but will also be there professionally written up, should you need a copy at a later date for your parental order or any other potential court visits. Your social worker is there for YOU! They get you through the process and make sure that any issues you face during your pregnancy, can be worked out without any fuss whatsoever. Your social worker will also be assigned to your surrogate and will act as mediator and project manager throughout the process.
