GT's Top Picks of the iTunes Festival
Applying for tickets at the iTunes Festival this September? Here’s what you could win…
More from GT Music
The iTunes Festival returns to London this month, offering UK residents the chance to catch some of the best music acts around without paying a penny.
We’ve picked out the top ten singers and bands at this year’s festival who we’d love to see - here are just some of the acts you could be hearing perform live:
David Guetta – 3 September
Providing you with all the best club tunes, David Guetta is sure to provide a superb set to start the festival with a bang. He’s sure to make the summer stretch out that little bit longer; get ready to go wild.
Clean Bandit – 3 September
If seeing Guetta live wasn’t enough, he’ll be supported by Clean Bandit, the hot young band taking the summer by storm. We loved their violinist Neil when we caught up with him last month, discussing their brand new single Come Over.
Calvin Harris – 7 September
If Calvin Harris needs our love, we’re more than happy to give it to him. If you’re looking for some house and electro, there’s no-one who does it better.
Sam Smith – 9 September
We can’t get enough of Sam Smith and his singing straight from the soul. He’s sure to give a heartbreaking live rendition of Stay With Me, probably the most relatable song of 2014.
Pharrell Williams – 10 September
Pharrell is sure to brighten up those chilly September nights with his boundless energy and cheerful dance tracks. We all love Happy, but his new album offers a whole lot more besides.
The Script – 15 September
Following the surprise launch of their new album this summer, The Script are riding high, and loving their new gay fans. In an interview for the latest issue of GT, drummer Glen said: “For us, it’s fucking brilliant to see gay guys in the audience, singing at the top of their lungs and really going for it.”
Blondie – 16 September
If you missed them at Glastonbury this year, here’s another chance to see Blondie live, as Debbie Harris and Chris Stein celebrate 40 years of pioneering tracks.
Jessie J – 22 September
We’re super excited for Sweet Talker, Jessie J’s third studio album. It’s not out until mid-October, but we’re hoping for a taste of it during her performance at iTunes this month.
Placebo – 23 September
The alt-rock band Placebo have never shied away from tackling important issues and outsider themes – catch them on their latest tour, for their album Loud Like Love, before they head over to the US.
Kylie – 27 September
Our final choice just has to be Kylie. Where else can you see the queen of Aussie pop without having to pay a fortune? Of course, you still have to win the tickets, and you know what they say - you should be so lucky…
The iTunes festival runs throughout September at the Roundhouse, Camden. UK residents can visit itunes.com/festival for ticket details.
