Stand Up For Russia

Fighting for equality in Russia - through laughter

Stand Up For Russia kills two birds with one hilarious stone – not only is it a stand up comedy show that’s sure to make you laugh until you cry with some of today’s best comedians and comediennes, it is also a fundraising event for the Russian LGBT Network as they stand up to the political tirade of the country’s president Putin.

On December 13th, London’s Conway Hall plays host to a stellar line up of the wittiest and sharpest comedy acts in the business today. Featuring the camp humour of Tom Allen, the racy musings of Rachel Stubbings, the charm of Chris Coltrane, the perfect timing of Lucy Frederick and the intelligent comic observations of BBC Radio 4’s Chris Neill, the show is sure to be as hilarious as the line up is impressive.

All proceeds from this non-profit event will go to the Russia LGBT Network and will help them in their fight for equality in a hostile society. The Russian LGBT Network was founded in 2006 and works to promote the basic rights and freedoms of the LGBT people, and further work on human rights within Russia while combating homophobia and transphobia.

Laughter is good for the body and soul, and with Stand Up For Russia this December, it’s good for the LGBT community in Russia too!

Stand Up For Russia, 13th December 2013, Conway Hall, London. £10 on the door. Full details can be found here .
