Organised by arts charity Wise Thoughts, Gaywise Festival also known as GFEST kicks off at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre in North London from 7 November - 9 November 2013.
GFEST 2013 boasts diverse films, astounding musical performances, poetry, art exhibitions, workshops and a Bollywood themed party. GOOD TIMES!
Known as London's LGBTQI cross art festival, GFEST features amazing fresh talent, young artists and queer talent working across the arts. GFEST also helps profile human rights issues and makes a creative case for equality in all walks of life.
GFEST starts with a free exhibition Riot of Colour, an exhibition that promises comic scenarios meet portraits and featuring illustrations that are more than illusions. Look out for New York born Jason C Woodson, as he expresses his art, which is quite sultry yet entertaining.
The festival continues with four dynamic workshops focusing on the 2011 riots, including a workshop with actress Shanika Warren-Markland from Holby City on how to make a short budget film.
As well as the workshops GFEST screens some amazing films, including one that focuses on how the African American community is grappling with the gay rights issue in the light of the recent gay marriage movement and the fight over civil rights.
There's also an evening of hip hop, rap, R&B, soul and poetry, featuring poet Dean Atta, plus award-winning hip hop artist QBoy, Naechané Valentino and female rapper EvOn.
Gfest is packed with entertainment, art and talent, it's one not to be missed.
