The Great Gatsby

Greater than your average Gatsby.

Moulin Rouge director Baz Luhrmann interprets F. Scott Fitzgerald's lavish
opus on the big screen, and the fourth time is definitely the charm!

Tobey Maguire plays Nick Carraway, an old money=no money bonds salesman
who's introduced to New York high society by cousin Daisy Buchanan (Carey
Mulligan) and acts as our guide through the opulence of New York in the
roaring twenties.
Leonardo DiCaprio is the mysterious new money millionaire Jay Gatsby, famous among the right crowd (Read: $$$) for throwing lavish parties all summer in his gorgeous Long Island mansion, at which flapper girls pour golden glitter on each other from oversized champagne
bottles.

A rainbow of cocktails on every table, streamers hang across the sky and the dance floor (atop the swimming pool) pulsates with jazz, more booze and good times. No one really knows Gastby though, or where his money comes from. Murderer? Bootlegger? Spy or cousin to the Russian king?
He appears to have more money than God and is generous to a fault with his
abundant wealth. Everyone wants to go to a Gatsby party!

The film is amazing in 3D. Go watch. Go on. Shoo.

GT gives The Great Gatsby 5/5
