Stop what you’re doing. The new Nicole Scherzinger video is out.
More from GT Music
Scherzy won us over last year with her bizarre yet mesmerising X Factor behaviour – from microphone-stealing and Nicole-isms (how many of us are still chanting ‘no, baby, no’ to this day?) to her rather fond (and natural, we think) obsession with balls. This included her protégée Jahmene’s meatballs (coming to an Asda near you) and Labour dude Ed Balls. ‘Vote Balls’, she declared, on live TV. Clearly this girl is all about balls. And having balls is, in keeping with the trend, the message behind her latest single.
Boomerang, if you didn’t already get the memo, is about bouncing back no matter what shit is thrown at you. “You can break my heart…I can take the hit, ’cause I’m a boomerang.” Yeah, yeah, we’ve heard it all before. But given that this is coming from the world’s ultimate GBF, we’re digging it. It’s not half bad. Catchy hooks, sing-along chorus. You’re bound to hear this everywhere you go, in every tiny corner, of every crevice, in every single club, in every available city. Toilets included. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
As for the video itself, it’s pretty decent (or should that be sha-mazing?) Plenty of techno effects and an army of Scherzys fighting against said shit. What could be better? Nicole struts, flips and contorts herself into all manner of interesting positions. Frankly, we were mind-blown at the absence of any cartwheels. What’s more, girlfriend is looking fine. In fact, immaculately so. Perfect. Actually, we can’t stand her.
Boomerang is the lead single from the as-of-yet-untitled follow-up to her platinum selling debut album Killer Love. The pussycat’s become a lioness. With balls. Because you get those.
Boomerang is out now. Watch the video below.
