Nicki Minaj and Cassie – The Boys
Solid evidence that the Starships singer cannot be trusted with flamethrowers.

Nicki Minaj has teamed up with Cassie for her new song The Boys, a beat-laden autotune fiesta. In a bubblegum cacophony of pink umbrellas and a burnt-out barber shop, Minaj and Cassie swagger fabulously through streets that look as though they were lifted out of Disneyland whilst casting disparaging look at the “boys always spending all their money on love”.
Minaj – always keen to play the bad girl – opts to smash her car up and whip out a flamethrower. She’s wearing a crotchless leotard. It looks painful. Cassie’s new androgynous look is fierce and will bring hope to those out there wondering whether a canary yellow Tin Tin quiff is an acceptable ‘look’. It definitely is.
Admittedly it’s one of her tamer videos, albeit in the way that Joey Essex’s neon skin tone is only a tad less radioactive if he misses his weekly spray tan. Firstly, for the most part she’s wearing trousers. And, um, that’s it really. But hey, it’s exactly what everyone wants from a new Nicki video; colour, candyfloss, cute B-boys in pink suits and no less than four wig changes.
The tune will be available on the expanded version of her second album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up.
