New heights for Kumra

With his second single Helicopters & Planes

After teaming up with Wretch 32, singer songwriter Josh Kumra graced the lofty heights of the singles chart with Don’t Go. Riding on the wave Don’t Go created for him, Kumra is back with his second single from his debut album.

Since reaching the top spot back in August last year, he has been writing and recording the album along with heavily praised performances on Later With Jools Holland as well as appearances at V and Glastonbury.

This summer is no different, and will see Josh, who has been likened to Ray LaMontagne among many others, take to the stage at 10 festivals across the United Kingdom, including Relentless Boardmasters Festival, Newquay in August along with a slot at Bestival in September.

The video sees Kumra walking down the centre of London and scaling the tube elevators whilst ironically singing “Keeping my feet on the ground” and dreaming about helicopters and planes. Building into a beautiful anthem at times, the video seems pretty low budget, but we love it all the same.

With a record deal with Sony RCA under his belt, this could be see him once again reach those dreamy heights that Helicopters & Planes’ predecessor managed.
