Fetch the trimmers
Shave it off for charity.
More from GT Life
The sun is shining, we’ve left our mittens at home and even that little sausage dog in the park has ditched its coat. It’s official: summer is here, so ditch the sleeves, roll up those jeans and slap on the SPF50.
Of course, looking the part is going to take more than a pair of shorts and some snazzy new espadrilles and some of us have more work to do than others; it is of course time for the summer trim.
Are little woollier than you’d like to be? Longing to ditch the fuzz? Maybe you’re just curious to know what you’d look like without the man-rug. Well now’s the time to do something about it and do your bit for charity in the process, as HMV are hosting a day long head-shaving session this coming Monday (that’s right, your head. Get your mind out of the gutter you animals).
Teaming up with the Teenage Cancer Trust and the mane-maestros from Electric Hair, HMV are welcoming the soon-to-be-sheared for a buzz-cut at their Oxford Street Store, on Monday 26th March. You can either pay £5 for the pleasure or, if you’re popular enough to be able to raise £50 in sponsorship, you can get the whole thing done for free (just give a little click here for all the deets).
So what are you waiting for? Sure you might have spent ages growing and preening for that pretty-boy look, but think about it, the summer buzz-cut is always on trend and you could look like Billy Zane or that fit one from the Wanted. It’s also a hell of a lot easier than that thing you were thinking of shaving earlier…
Monday’s trim-fest has been arranged to coincide with the launch of 50/50 on DVD & Double Play, from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. It’s potentially one of the funniest films about cancer we’ve seen (quite a feat), so if you haven’t checked it out already you probably should.
