Matthew Bomer comes out as gay
Hollywood actor thanks boyfriend and kids during awards speech
We're a little bit in love with Matt Bomer. The razor sharp jaw-line. The baby blue eyes. The revelation of a male partner oh-so-casual it seemed to take everyone a day or two to catch on. And during an acceptance speech for saving the world no less! Well, kind of. But seriously, is there anything about Mr Bomer, star of hit US series White Collar, to dislike? Even his name is hot (if you get our drift).
So, over the weekend, in California, at the Desert AIDS Project’s Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, the handsome actor nabbed the New Generation Arts and Activism Award for his work fighting AIDS/HIV. And during his acceptance speech he thanked his 'proudest accomplishment', his family, including boyfriend Simon Halls, a renowned Hollywood publicist. "Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry... Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is,” he claimed. Awww.
It's long been believed the Texas-native batted for our team but Matt never chose to confirm either way – until now. You've got to admit, there's something pretty cool about the lack of bells and whistles of the whole thing. And there's something pretty damn hot, too, about the fact that on White Collar he plays a James Bond-esque womanising con-man. *Rushes to download*
Keep an eye out for Matt when he hits the silver screen later this year in stripper movie (yes, STRIPPER MOVIE) Magic Mike, alongside Channing Tatum's chest and Alex Pettyfer's backside. The Full Monty it isn't.
