The Deer Tracks

Live in London at The Lexington

We described their last record as Sigur Ros meets Stars, and their live show certainly fits that description too. Just add in some kooky monochrome styling, massive false eyelashes and a tendency to launch into wordless howls and indulge in a bit of face slapping.

This video captures their floaty ephemeral side quite well (and those eyelashes):

What it doesn't capture is their thumping electro moments that they're prone to breaking out into. At one point they were rhythmically thrashing their drums, slappings their keyboard and trying to smash a triangle into pieces. We liked these overbearingly loud moments, it reminded us why we like live music.

Also, any band that can end on a saw solo is worth a chin-stroking peek.
