We want to have dinner with Gershwin

Or we could just skip dinner and go straight to the show.

Fans of razzmatazz, pomp and jazz are in for a treat. Strictly Gershwin’s back at the Royal Albert Hall. You took your time, it’s been three years…

Yes, this English National Ballet production promises to take you on a journey of glitz and glamour lead by some of the finest dancers as they throw their arms, legs and hips around (and hopefully not out) in this 30s revival.

And you know what the promise of fine dancers means – no not a fabulous frock (OK, that too), athletic men, all under the watchful gaze of an appreciative audience.

Be warned – sporadic but uncontrollable tapping of the hands and legs may occur.

Derek Deane is back directing this performance in the good company of Gareth Valentine (one for all you hardcore musical fans).

Think of Strictly Gershwin as an education in not just dance but history too, with some of Gershwin’ finest musical masterpieces such as Rhapsody in Blue and Shall We Dance taking centre stage (with those toned men and frocks).

Deane promises you a chorographical grand finale, but we can’t tell you what it is. No spoilers.

Strictly Gershwin’s only in London town for 10 days from 9-19 June and you can get your tickets at this website.
