GT DATE: In the mood for love...

So the month of Valentine's is upon us - and we know that all you single boys will either...

(1) Plan a big night out with your other single friends and winge on about singledom (2) Stay home with a hot-water bottle in your PJs and watch Bridget Jones on tele (on your own!) or (3) Do something about it and get online to bag your dream man in 14 days, so to ensure that Valentine's day sees overblown romantic gestures from that perfect guy!

We're hoping that you all are with us and going for option (3). So when you meet your compatible other for that Valentine's date, what are you going to do to set the mood for love and set the tone for a long-lasting relationship?
Well, they say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. So at GT DATE HQ, we've put together our dream Valentine's menu that we'd serve in our imaginary GT DATE restaurant to get you in the mood for love. Maybe it'll inspire you, but if not - it's all in the spirit of fun - take your mind off the big day itself!

Tomato, Basil and Avocado Bruschetta
Basil stimulates the minds, tickles the senses and increases circulation. This will keep you both alert and trigger inquisitiveness in the brain - meaning that you'll both have a whale of a time finding out more about each other. Plus, the smell of it is said to be irresistible to men, though we're not suggesting you switch aftershave!

Oysters, Smoked Salmon or Caviar
I know what you're thinking. These are rumoured to be aphrodisiacs! We're not that way inclined, especially as we're about long-lasting relationships. Our take on it is that these exotic tastes are not just impressive and worldly, but a great talking point.

Char Grilled Green and White Asparagus Bundles Wrapped in Serrano Ham and Honey Laced Figs with Shaved Truffles
Truffles again arouse the senses, whilst figs are rumoured to stimulate conversation. The greeks always had figs in their forums. As for the dish, well - we had to find a way to get figs and truffles together...

Raspberries, Strawberries and Rose Champagne
Red is the colour of passion and these tasty treats are also high in Vitamin C. Rose champagne is also known as the drink of love. Drunk in moderation, it lowers inhibitions, heightens sensations and creates a warming glow.

Basil White Chocolate Mousse
Well, everyone loves chocolate! But really, chocolate contains a mild sedative which lowers inhibitions and apparently increases desire for physical contact. It was apparently banned from monasteries for this very reason, centuries ago! A great way to end the night, especially if some hand holding and perhaps a cheeky kiss is on the cards.

Happy Valentine's Day from all of us at GT DATE! x
